Last season, that magical season that saw the Tigers win the Japan Series, started with a three-game sweep at Kyocera Dome against these same Yokohama DeNA Baystars. That hot start propelled the team to the top of the standings, where they stayed for the better part of the season. This year things did not go as smoothly. While the team finally started scoring runs more frequently, it still was not enough to make up for poor fielding and bad timing when it came to pitching changes. In fact, losing two of three pushed the Tigers into last place… though only by a little (and only for a few days, surely!).
