Game 136 vs. Carp: Future MLB Slugger Does His Thing

Game 136 vs. Carp: Future MLB Slugger Does His Thing
October 17, 2021

The night belonged to the Hiroshima Carp and their solo home run hitting batters. They got four, including a pair out of Seiya Suzuki (oh please won’t you just go to the majors already?). While Mel Rojas Jr hit a big fly in the bottom of the seventh to bring the Tigers to within one, it was too little, too late. Two great chances earlier in the game yielded no runs, and then Kuribayashi did his thing by giving us hope (two runners on, one out) but then dashing said hopes (striking out Teruaki Sato and coaxing a weak grounder out of Koji Chikamoto). Now every single game is a must-win.
