The truth is, the Hanshin Tigers *do* (kind of) have an alibi and reason for being U-G-L-Y for the second straight game. The starter today was supposed to be Joe Gunkel, but he had a migraine and sore throat this morning, and was sent to the hospital for a PCR test. It came back negative for Covid-19, but emergency starter Junya Nishi got devoured in the first inning (three runs against) and the relievers continued to get eaten up, as they have all interleague. No excusing them, or the defense that committed another three errors today. Late home runs by Jefry Marte and Teruaki Sato are nice for padding the stats, but I’m not sure many Tigers fans were watching anymore, given that the team was down 8 already at that point.
