Game 45 vs. Marines: Had Roki Up Against the Ropes, But…
May 27, 2021

My theory about Pacific League players coming to the sacred grounds of Koshien for the first time in two years (or ever) and having the game of their lives… well, it did not quite play out this time. Roki “The Reiwa Beast” Sasaki never made it to the national high school tournament, so this was his first start ever at Koshien. It did not go so well for him. He gave up four runs in five innings, but was bailed out by some clutch hitting from his mates after he had already left the game, collected his first career win and was named hero of the game. Justice? Who cares. We wanted a Tigers win and did not get it.
