Infielder Wilin Rosario has made a personal donation of one million yen as a token of his support for those affected by July’s heavy rains and flooding. Rosario’s donation will be added to funds collected by the Hanshin Tigers, the Hanshin Tigers Players’ Association, and the Former Players’ Association and delivered to the July 2018 Heavy Rain/Flood Disaster Donation Account established by the Japan Red Cross Society.

A message from Rosario: “It has been heartbreaking to see this disaster unfold. Nobody ever wants to lose their home, their food, their families, and the people they hold dear, and I want to do whatever I can to help. Disasters like this have happened in my country too, so I’ve been thinking about how I can help every day. I’m grateful to my club for the chance they’ve given me to play in Japan, and the Japanese people have been so nice to me that I’ve really come to love the country. While of course it’s terrible that this disaster has happened, I want to make this donation keeping in mind the gratitude I feel to all the Japanese people I’ve befriended so far. This donation is not just from me, but from my entire family.”
