Games 118-120 @ Swallows: The Return of the Magic

Games 118-120 @ Swallows: The Return of the Magic
September 3, 2023

Ironic, isn’t it, that the first full series that I was able to watch after being away from Japan most of August wasn’t even on network TV! Nevertheless, the Tigers were able to take advantage of a weakened Swallows lineup. On Friday, rookie Shota Morishita hit two bombs at a stadium he played in often as a college student (last year). On Saturday, Teruaki Sato got a lot of help from the wind as his towering shot sliced from foul ground to fair, grazing the right-field pole for a three-run dagger. The series wrapped up with Sato hitting another key three-run home run. But let’s not discount the pitchers! Shoki Murakami was outstanding in the opener, Koyo Aoyagi and his voodoo work against righties kept Tetsuto Yamada out of the lineup on Saturday, and Masashi Itoh was a 9th-inning solo home run away from a Maddux, as he disposed of the Swallows in just 90 pitches. We got our magic number back, folks! With 23 games remaining, all we need is for the combination of Tigers wins and Carp losses to equal 15! It’s just a matter of time before the drought comes to an end!

Why no mention of Chikamoto being hit by a pitch in the recap? Can you fix your X feed on the website?

Good point about not mentioning Chikamoto’s incident. I will talk about it on the podcast for sure. What did you mean about fixing my X feed on the site? It seems fine on my end…

The Facebook is forced down to the bottom and the X posts, from different months and years, sometimes repetitive, are at the top.

I prefer to read rather to listen to podcasts.

I hear you on the reading over podcasts. Makes sense. The X posts here are in the order I have posted them (at least as I see it). FB is under X because I think more people are using X than FB (as far as my following goes).

Are you using desktop, laptop, tablet, or smartphone? That might affect how things show up. I wish I were more tech-savvy – it would definitely make for a more attractive website if I were! Thanks for your support despite my shortcomings!

Desktop. When I open your webpage, FB is on top, but is then quickly moved to the bottom by X and its way too many posts (some from 2020).
