Game 122 vs. Carp: Bats Unclutch, Relief Porous

Game 122 vs. Carp: Bats Unclutch, Relief Porous
September 29, 2021

Koyo Aoyagi has not been the same since the Olympics. He has now given up 17 runs in his last five starts after giving up just 24 (21 earned) in his first 16 starts. That said, the bats once again came up short when they had chances. Two straight innings of bases-loaded situations yielded two bagels, and when the team was unable to take the lead and bring in its best relievers, the guys who did come in (Yuta Iwasada and Masumi Hamachi) let it all out and then some. Their 1 ⅓ innings of work resulted in 5 runs against. Ah well… just need to win tomorrow to avoid the sweep and end September on a good note.
